Subject: STRICT PROHIBITION OF USE OF LPG GAS CYLINDERS IN PREMISES OF SCHOOLS
It has come in notice of the undersigned during various school visits/inspections that LPG gas cylinders are frequently being used in Premises Schools for different purposes. Such practice poses a serious safety risk to students, teaching staff and non-teaching staff, particularly in view of the large number of students present in school premises.
2. In order to ensure the safety and security of students and staff and to avoid any untoward incident, all Heads of High and Higher Secondary Schools are hereby strictly directed not to keep, use or allow the use of LPG/gas cylinders in the school premises.

3. All Heads are further directed to personally inspect their school premises and ensure immediate removal of any unauthorized LPG/gas cylinder and ensure that no such cylinder is being used within the school premises in future.
4. It is hereby made clear that during any visit/inspection by the undersigned or any authorized officer, if an LPG/gas cylinder is found in the school premises, the matter shall be viewed seriously and the concerned Head of Institution shall be held responsible. Appropriate departmental action shall be initiated / recommended against the concerned Head under the relevant rules/instructions.
5. The Heads of Institutions shall ensure strict compliance on directions and shall also brief their teaching and non-teaching staff accordingly.
6. Any negligence or violation in this regard shall be dealt with strictly.
